The Gagau Group comprises a thick sequence of terrigenous beds which are of extensive occurrence in a number of isolated areas along the eastern flank of the Malay Peninsula in the states of Kelantan, Pahang, and Johore fossil plant remains collected from three or more widely separated localities prove these rocks to be Upper Jurrasic to early Lower Cretaceous age.
