<br/><br/> A brief study of the lignite from the Bukit Penareh area was done on seams I and J. Several features in the lignite from these seams have been recognised that were not observed in the coal from the Merit-Pila coalfield suggesting differences between the two coalfields. The differences deduced are the palaeovegetation and palaeoenvironment of deposition.
