N2  - The 'Dark Caves' which are an exotic system of caves within the Batu Caves Complex were closed to the public around March 1980 when loose blocks of rocks fell from the roof, damaging the asbestos roof covering the cemented walk-way. The Tourist Development Corporation which developed the amenities within the 'Dark Caves' plans to reopen these caves to the public again. The Geological Survey was requested to conduct a geological appraisal and assess the safety of the 'Dark Caves'
