N2  - Two field works were carried out in the coastal fringe of west Sarawak stretching from Kuala Sampadi to Batu Malang inclusive of Sumpah, Sg. China, Stoh, Rambungan, Lobo-Trombol, Sibu Laut, Santin, Telok Simpor, mersan and Sg. Mas (Fig. 1). These were carried out in stages from August to September 1992. The construction of household wells were done by the Geological Survey of Malaysian in 1990 - 1191. The medical Departments provided and installed the hand pumps, and some, by the GSM
