<br/><br/> The Bukit Besi iron mine is the largest open-cast property in South-East Asia and is one of the oldest operating iron mines in the Federation of Malaya. Current production is in axcess of three million tons of ore a year. The ore bodies consists of metasomatic magnetic and hematite replacements in shales and limestone skarn rocks. tin ore is being produced on a increasing scale.
