Medium to coarse-grained leucocratic granitic bodies containing more than 60% feldspar and less than 10% mafic minerals are found to be appropriate and potential source materials of local feldspar. Out of the 72 granite to quarries /outcrops studied in Peninsular Malaysia, 31 have been identified as 'ideal' sources of feldspar conforming to the 'preferred' feldspar specification of >18% A12O3, >11% (Na2O + K2O) and <0.3% fe2O3.
