N2  - Seismic profiling indicates two seismic layers consisting of a sandy to silty clay unit (1.8 to 11.7 metres in thickness) overlying a clay layer. Side scan sonar denotes high sediment mobility along certain stretches of the channel as reflected by the presence of sand waves and sand ripples. The survey indicates the channel depths range from 9 to 14metres, and the whole channel needs to be dredged. The volume of the material to be dredged was estimated to be 7million cubic metres
