<br/><br/> Based on reconnaissance exploration work to date, Malaysia has an estimated resource of some 148 Mt natural silica sand and at least 72 Mt tailing sand which can be beneficiated for various industrial uses. Natural silica sand is found mainly in Sarawak, Sabah, Terengganu and Johor, while the bulk of the tailing sand deposits is found in the mining districts of Perak, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
