The Bukit Ibam iron-ore mines was the largest iron-ore mine in Peninsular Malaysia exploited between the years 1962 and 1970. The orebody was intercalated in a sequence of volcanic rocks, forming a steep north-south ridge on the eastern margin of the Bukit Sembilan range of hills.
