The Central Belt Project, one of the most ambitious exploration programmes undertaken by the Geological Survey of Malaysia, is outlines. The project aims to access the mineral potential of north central Peninsular Malaysia especially for uranium, base and precious metals, in an attempt to diversity the country's largerly tin - dependent industry. The coverage, general approach and achievements of the project are briefly discussed.
