N2  - While still nominally under Siamese rule, both lode and alluvial mining had been carried on for a number of years along the waterways or in the more accessible parts of the country, and until recently tin was the only mineral mined. It occurs as alluvial in many of the narrow creeks and tributaries of the larger rivers, and so far is known in lodes or replacement deposits in the granite only in the southern part of the state
