<br/><br/> Small patches of haematitic ore were seen on some of the old benches, associated with a greenich-grey clay apparently derived from weathered granite. At one expesure a very soft dark grey, almost black, clay showed the remains of phenocrysts up to 1/4@ in diameter and appeared to have been derived from some type of porphyry.
