The ore is haematite with subordinate magnetite and limonite. The bulk of the ore is fine-grained and granular, gives a reddish streak but some samples show a weak magnetic attraction with an occassional sample strongly magnetic. Material obtained from one of the thin veins of iron-ore was obviously attracted by a hand magnet although very little of it was actually lifted. It appears that the ore is haematite with a weak remanent magnetism.
