<br/><br/> The study area is underlain by the Kapit Member and the Layar Member of the Belaga Formation. The Layar Member is Late Cretaceous age (Liechti et al., 1960) and composed of slate, phyllite, shale and greywacke which covering about 25% of the studied area while the Kapit Member is composed of argillite, slate, phyllite, shale and greywacke which is deposited during Palae ocene-Early Eocene. Rocks units in this area are highly deformed where the beds was folded and faulted.
