520			_aThe attached sketch plan indicates the broad features of the geology of the mines. The hills to the west of the Wan Yuen Mines are formed of granite whereas the lowlands to the east are of the sedimentary rocks, limestone and schist, limestone being pre dominant. The mines lie at the foot of the hills and are therefore on or near the contact between the granite and the sedimentary rocks. The actual contact between granite and massive limestone was exposed before the war in the main Wan Yuen Mine where it was marked by a solution though carrying rich tin-ore value.
