520			_aIn December 1975, the Geological Survey, at the request of the Public Works Department, conducted a shallow refraction seismic survey at the proposed Jalan Bayan Lepas-Sungai Ara, Penang. The investigation was carried out in order to obtain more geological information of the subsurface at a section of the road alignment which passes through an isolated hill where the underlying bedrock is granite.
