520			_aThe only information available on the geology of the surrounding area is that contained in the Reconnaissance Survey and incorporated in the 12miles to 1 geological map. This shows that the bedrock in the area is the quartzite and shale formation believed to be of triassic age. The Pahang volcanic series is shown to outcrop along the coast to the east of the area, and to the northwest and intrusion of post-triassic granitic rocks is shown. The granitic margin is about 3miles from the area.
