520 _aAt the first locality visited, the summit and northern slopes of Bukit Chendang, there are numerous pebbles and fragments of haematite in the soil. Many of these appear to be of high grade but others are highly siliceous. The country rock, phyllite, schists and tuffy schist, is of ten inpregnated by narrow veins of haematite.Quartz veining is common. Haematite pebbles are of ten tabular and brittle. The haematite occuring here has apparently been derived from narrow veins in the country rock and there appears to be insufficient to justify further prospecting.
