520 _aA geological examination of the deposit was made during April and May 1941, the results of which are summarized below; (a)Ore reserves of between 20,000,000 and 30,000,000 tons have been satisfactorily proved by the I.S.K. (b)Further workable bodies of ore would probably be revealed during the exploitation of proved reserves. (c)Geophysical prospecting by magnetic methods would be an ideal way of searching for hidden deposits in the same area. (d)Transportation of the ore to ocean-going ships is a serious problem. The I.S.K. estimate that a railway would cost about
_3,500,000 and would take three years to build. (e)The iron ore occurs as veins in sheared quartz porphyry, trending with the direction of shearing. (f)The iron was probably concentrated from an epidoterich granite which was intruded into the quartz-porphyry and surrounding sedimentary rocks.
