520 _aFollow-up geochemical sampling in the Sungai Sok and Sungai Kundor - Sungai Seting areas were initiated in July and completed in Ogos 1995. The objective of the follow-up sampling is to delineate more accurately the gold prospective sectors identified earlier as well as obtain additional geochemical information. This resulted in the collection of 140 silt, 138 heavy mineral concentrate, 26 rock and 65 soil samples in an area of about 115 km2. The samples were geochemically analysed at the Geological Survey Laboratories in Kuantan for gold and 16 other elements (Pb, Ni, As, Mo, Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, As, Sn, W, U, Hg, Sb, Bi, and Ba) Some 6 gold sectors totally 15 km2 have been outlined, 2 of which are in the Sungai Sok area and another 4 in the Sungai Kundor - Sungai Seting area. The results indicate that the best gold potential area for Sungai Sok is at Bukit Tonggek, where high Au values are recorded in silt sediments. Where as the gold sectors delineated in the Sungai Kundor - Sungai Seting area also have significant gold flake showings thereby enhancing its potential for placer gold as well.
