500 | _bSummary. Geophysical measurements have been made in an area within the Gunung Ledang map sheet which has been delineated as anomalous in gold by geochemical stream sediment and concentrate sampling. This was done in order to investigate its structure, and in particular, to delinated fracture zones within which the gold is likely to occur. VLF-EM and resistivity measurements have detected linear NNE and NNW trending conductive structures which probably represent theses fractures. The magnetic survey showed an absence of strongly magnetic mineralization and rock types in the area. Futher geophysical measurements would only be justified if subsequent investigation shows that there is a correlation between gold content and the geophysical anomalies. The line spacing of 200m is larger than desirable to give reliable continuity of structures from one line to the next, but the geophysical survey was designed to cover as large an area as possible within the time available and to test the usefulness of a variety of methods. The tests showed that the VLF method alone is sufficient to detect conductive structures in this area, so additional lines could be surveyed quickly and cheaply. | ||
