The work was carried out in the period July 18th to August 22nd, 1970. The aim of the project was to investigate a known limestone occurence of Gunong Sumalayang, situated some 17miles north-west of Kota Tinggi (Fig. 1), to establish whether a commercially exploitable deposit occured in the area.
