The study area is located along the way fom North Temerloh passing by Bandar Pusat Jengka, a small town in Maran district and extends up until Kota Gelanggi in Jerantut. It covers from latitude 3.65 north up to 3.90 north, and longitude 102.43 east until 102.72 east. The geology of this area is largely occupied by sedimentary rocks. Semantan formation aged ikate - mid triassic is the major formation within the study area, where the rocks are interbedded shale / mudstone with tuff, wackestone, limestone and chert
