Common clays are known to occur in various parts of the Kinta Valley, especially in the lowlying areas. In some localities these clays are currently being exploited for the manufacture of common bricks, Portland cement, sewage and drainage pipes and low grade pottery such as flower pots, water containers and rubber latex cups.
