The pilot site chosen for the cemp, Malaysia was South Johor. Johor was chosen as the pilot site for many reasons. It has the longest coastline of any state in Peninsular Malaysia. Johor has a combination of sandy beaches, coastal forests, and offshore islands in the east coast and muddy shoreline and numerous river basins with mangroves along the west coast, and the Johor Straits. It is also one of the most rapidly developing states in Malaysia.
