The Linau-Balui area, located in central Sarawak is covored by Sarawak Quarter Sheet 2/114/9 and has an area of 763km2. The task of detailed geological mapping (scale 1:50, 000) of the area was officially undertaken by the author on June 1st, 1988. Since then the author has interpreted the aerial photographs and subsequently conducted two fieldworks in the area.
