Upon a request by the ministry of NRE at Putrajaya following a complaint forwarded to the Minister of NREB in May 2012, a team from the Minerals and Geoscience Department Malaysia, Sarawak undertook a discontinuity study of Taman Paya Udak 3 relic landslide at Betong town to conduct a discontinuity survey of Bukit Sibau as there was a concern that the landslide would be reactivated in the event that torrential rainfall would occur in the foreseeable future.
