Summary: In general, the area has low relief with few isolated hills. A goup og high hills ranges predominantly on the earter portion of the mapped area of which the highest elevation is 702 S4. The western part of the area has almost continuous flat coastal plain. Swamp areas occur extensively along the coastal lawland and river delta. Mostly, small intermittent streams occur in the hills which drain into the foot hills. The largest river is Sungei Muar which meanders into the straits of Malacca. The Sungei Muar has a good example of ox- bow lake.
