By: Mohamad Hafizzul IshakMaterial type: TextTextPublisher: 2010Description: xiv, 45 p. col. ill., maps 30 cmSubject(s): Petrography -- Kelantan -- Pos Balau | Rocks -- Classification | Dissertations, Academic -- Malaysia | Geology -- research -- Kelantan -- Pos Balau | Pos Belau (Kelantan) | Gua Musang (Kelantan)Summary: Based on this analysis, there are two facies of limestone at study area which is pelmicrite facies and biomicrite facies. Both classification of these facies are determined by using carbonate rock classification by Folk (1959, 1962). Microscopic analysis of sandstone also had determined that this sandstone is some kind of calcareous US sandstone, which is the usual sandstone but cemented with calcite. The study of macroscopic and microscopic of conglomerate determined that the clasts of the conglomerate are rounded to subrounded in shape and composed of calcareous clast. These analysis may help to interpret the diagenesis to determine the source of sandstone and conglomerate. It also may help in determining the environmental depositional of these rock.
