Ore mine borders on the geologic contacts of the calcareous and argillaceous fucies, the latter is dominated by shale, schist and phyllite. Both facies made up the devonian-carboniferous calcareous series which was metamorphosed by the post-Triassic Changkat Kantan-Tronoh-Tanjung Tualang granite. The remaining two mines are sited upon alluvium overlying the Lower Triassic Segari granite.
